Rain →
When it rains, I get lost in the music of the rain and transfixed by the optical magic of the drops. There is also an exquisite sadness in watching the rain. It is so beautiful and melancholy, it makes me feel alone in the face of geological time and the cycles of nature that existed before life on earth. An article that has a short video worth watching.

Game theory explains the constant shortage of...
You can think of this traditional concept of the search for marriage partners as a kind of an auction. In this auction, some women will be more confident of their prospects, others less so. In game-theory terms, you would call the first group “strong bidders” and the second “weak bidders.” Your first thought might be that the “strong bidders”—women who...

Stop and hear the music
A man stood inside a Metro station in Washington, D.C. and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, thousands of people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. Many minutes went by and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and...

And so it has come down to me buying the Eximus. Took some nice(what I thought to be nice at least) photos around buona vista and in NUS. Cannot wait to develop them! But first I’ve to finish the film.(And make some progress on my FYP. Argh)

Children’s Rhyme Grandmother, last night I dreamed again I was a child dancing round and round a wooden table. Singing a song you gave me in your tongue years ago, about the boy with his goats out in the cold climbing mountains crossing rivers in search of home. In the morning I woke and summoned the lyrics to myself. But that memory escaped me, dived into the depths from which all dreams...
